  • Bruce Cowan, former Nationals MHR for Lyne (1980-93) & State member for Oxley (1965-80) & has died, aged 85. (via @ABCRural) #
  • Cowan was state Minister for Agriculture for the last 6 months of the Willis government (1975-6). He was Barry O'Farrell's father-in-law. #
  • In 1976, Cowan defeated an old friend of mine in Oxley who offered up his youthful ALP body for ritual sacrifice! #
  • @John_Hanna Peter Tullgren. He got 30.78% of the vote. I don't think it interrupted his university studies too much! #
