Audio Interview: Getting Started In An Online Business

Colleen, a member of Debra Thompson Roedl's Wealth Alliance

I’ve embarked on a series of interviews with people I’ve met who are working online or who are in the process of developing online businesses.

One of these is Colleen, a student of Debra Thompson’s Wealth Alliance mentoring program.

Colleen is building a consultancy business called Quality Writing Services.

In my interview, she discusses some of the strategies she has used to build her online business, as well as some of the pitfalls.

She highlights the importance of the mentoring program she’s been involved with.

Audio Interview: Charly Leetham of Arvoreen Treasures

I was able to compare notes with Charly Leetham whilst in Sydney yesterday. Charly operates an online business through her website, arvoreentreasures.com. She has vast experience in all matters IT-related.

I told her she was a dangerous person for me to get to know because she is as fond of her technological toys as I am.

This is Charly with her husband, Stuart:

  • Audio Interview with Sean Roach: Rip2It & GotAccess

I was in Sydney yesterday for training on Sean Roach’s Rip2It program.

What is Rip2It? In essence, the program provides a site builder that allows me to quickly build niche websites which act like billboards on the information superhighway. These sites earn money through the Google Adsense placement of targeted advertisements. The site also contain affiliate links to products from Amazon.com.

Rip2It is the work of Sean Roach, an American internet entrepreneur. He is about to release a new social networking platform called GotAccess.

I spoke to Sean at the end of yesterday’s sessions.

    Audio Interview with Tim Brocklehurst

    Tim Brocklehurst, My Viral Spiral

The 3-day seminar and training session with Tim Brocklehurst ended late today with a trip to Tullamarine. As I write this, Tim is jetting back to England.

Today’s sessions covered blog creation and traffic generation techniques. We also dealt with the mechanics of assisting affiliates on MVS (My Viral Spiral) to rebrand their products and automate their business.

Once again, I was dumbstruck by the potential of some of the techniques we covered. Whether it’s article marketing or traffic exchanges, I learnt much today. More significantly, I overcame an important conceptual hurdle with MVS that I was struggling with all weekend.

Before we finished up, I interviewed Tim about his MVS system and its importance to internet marketers.

Audio Interview: Peter Johnson, Ginseng and the Viral Spiral

    Peter Johnson

One of the people I met at Tim Brocklehurst’s seminar is Peter Johnson.

Hailing from Bendigo, Peter is a biodiversity planner with the Victorian Department of Sustainability and Environment.

Like me, Peter is developing online business interests. He also has a keen interest in ginseng and is Vice-President of the Australian Ginseng Growers Association.

Peter and I have decided to become accountability partners. This means that we have agreed to act as sounding boards and motivators for each other.

The Aussie Bloggers website has a brief but informative article about accountability partners HERE.

    Viral Spiral Turns In Melbourne

I’ve spent the weekend ensonced in a conference room at Rydges on Swanston with Tim Brocklehurst and an eclectic group of people who have joined “The Freedom Class”.

This is me with Tim Brocklehurst:

Tim’s Viral Spiral internet marketing program is now an integral part of my internet business. It will be the main means of selling ebooks and other products, including the membership site I have in the pipeline.

Tim’s program is the modern equivalent of word-of-mouth marketing, or growth by recommendation. The internet has taken this form of growth to a new level by lubricating the means of passing on the recommendation. [Read the rest of this entry…]

Trewly, It’s Been A Long Time!

I got delayed leaving Sydney yesterday and by the time I had taken the alternative route through the Blue Mountains, Bathurst and elsewhere, it was dark and I couldn’t be bothered forging on to Melbourne.

So, I spent the night in Wagga Wagga, catching up with my favourite aunt, Gladys, and two of my cousins, Anne (left) and Denise (right):

    Anne, Gladys, Me, Denise

I hadn’t seen Gladys since my father’s funeral in 1991. Anne and I couldn’t remember when we last met but it was sometime in the 1970s. [Read the rest of this entry…]

    Back in Sydney Again

I’ve been in Sydney for the weekend attending Brett McFall’s 2-day seminar.

It’s been a very useful event with some meaty sessions on all manner of internet essentials. The sessions on squeeze pages, article marketing and affiliates were particularly useful.

Given the deluge of information and presentations at the World Internet Summit, it was good to be able to survey the scene with more experienced eyes and a better perspective.

Charley and Reg at the Brett McFall seminar in Sydney

Of course, the real value of these occasions lies in the people you meet. Charley and Reg (above) are two such examples. Have a look at Charley’s website HERE to get an idea of her extensive range of skills.

Andrew and Daryl Grant gave a presentation on setting up membership sites. This was of great interest to me because of my own plans in this direction. As they were explaining their methodology, I couldn’t help thinking how much it mirrored Yaro Starak’s Blog Mastermind course that I have nearly completed. And then Yaro bobbed up on the screen giving a video testimonial for the Grants’ mentoring program. It highlighted the importance of continuous learning for sustained improvement and success.
